Buying a Car as a Single Woman – 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe

Buying a Car as a Single Woman, sets out to empower women with knowledge of their consumer power in purchasing a car. Car marketing very rarely is marketed towards women even though women make up over 52% of the new car buyers in the USA. So here’s to walking into the dealership prepared and ready to negotiate the best deal!

IMG_0035Happy New Year! Here’s to 2015 being a marvelously awesome year. I ended 2014 previewing the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe courtesy of General Motors and #DriveTheDistrict. I’m not actually in the market for a coupe style car, but test driving one just to make sure wasn’t a bad look either. Plus Houston seems to be the city of the Cadillac driver, so I got to feel a bit more like I belong in this car, lol.  The Cadillac ATS Coupe is a very nice car with a sleek leather interior, individual seat heating, high tech features via the CUE navigation system and Head-Up Display (prompts that display on the windshield).

I took the ATS on a drive from Houston to Dallas and back with no problems. The Turbo 4-Cylinder engine with direct injection allows for extremely smooth acceleration in a powerful engine while maintaining a good fuel efficiency. Highway 45 between Houston and Dallas is largely a 2 lane road, and there were plenty of semi-trucks making the same ride as me on Christmas Eve. It’s mindless how quickly and smoothly the ATS accelerates, making it easy to pass larger vehicles and the control to quickly decelerate down to the maintaining speed.

It’s definitely a car that makes you feel smooth + sexy every time you step out of the drivers seat. Stunt on them if you can. The car averages around 23MPGs, handled Houston potholes marvelously (I blew a tire on another car hitting those potholes) and the heating features were the best part as the weather has finally dipped in Texas. TheKGLifeStyle had too much fun turning on her heated passenger seat and I did enjoy the heated steering wheel. No one actually sat in the back seat, though I stuck a good bit of luggage back there. Kala is 6ft tall, so by time she pushed her passenger seat back so that she was comfortable there wasn’t much room for another adult to fit comfortably in the back seat. Trunk was plenty spacious as I packed it with a suitcase and a bunch of groceries from Costco.

I do want a car that will grow with me through having a family so the coupe style of car won’t work for me in particular. This would be more of a young professional, enjoying life car or a second personal car. But I did enjoy turning heads, as I stepped out the ATS coupe. Smooth.

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe in Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic retails for $48,200MSRP, the model featured retails at $50,990
